A Chance To Buy Your First Car Again, Brand New.

I just found out that the 1986.5 Nissan Hardbody Truck that I drove in high school is still being sold brand new in Venezuela!

I wouldn't be quite nostalgic enough to want to buy one brand new, but it's nice to know it's there, and reminds me of the old style VW Super Beetles and Busses being produced in Mexico until only recently.

The truck is called the Nissan D21 and is sold right alongside the Frontier: http://www.nissan.net.ve/gama.htm

The old first gen Sentra is in there too, sold as the Sentra Classico!

I like it, if you have a solid platform why not just keep it going? if the model could somehow get around safety requirements in the US, I'll bet a lot of people would still be more than happy to drive around in a new truck like this, small, economical, and sold for a good price. I think my dad bought our original truck brand new in 1987 for less than $8000.
