Stock is Rising: 1995 BMW E36 M3 Coupe
Words by Warren Madsen
BMW's second iteration of the M3, a well balanced sports car with a sophisticated interior and analog styling that's held up very well. Some known issues with cooling system parts, driveline bushings and VANOS that can be remedied. Getting hard to locate examples like this.
Asking $13,000
Sweet: a pure driving experience, OBDI for upgrade potential (1995), great color combination, clean and original. Bonus for low miles and no flip down stereo or chrome shift knob.
Bummer: pricey. But find another this nice.
Awesome: an excellent daily driver and in this condition it should hold it's value.
Upgrade option: lightweight wheels in place of these "contours."
DWA values: $9-14k for a very nice, original example. $7-9k for a well loved but complete car. Don't buy any lower than this unless you have a BMW patch on your ASE shirt and you know what VANOS stands for.
