What is the Coastal Range Rally?

The Coastal Range Rally of 2018 is a three-day event, Feb 23rd - 25th throughout Central California.

Technically the "Coastal Range", is the name given to the mountains lining the Pacific Coast of North America, spanning from Alaska and Canada, down to Southern California and Mexico. From the ice fields of British Columbia to the mountains suspending Big Sur, this term “Coastal Range” invokes thoughts of rugged terrain, ocean vistas and classic scenes of western life. It’s no coincidence that the roads built to navigate these areas have a reputation all their own, some of which have been recognized as All-American roads no less.

If you have a penchant for interesting cars and you happen to live near the Coastal Range, you already have quite a bit in common with us at Driving While Awesome.

There are plenty of vintage rallies throughout CA, but none of us at DWA had cars that qualify...so we started our own. We are all about diversity and we have had everything from a 1962 Bristol to a 2007 Ruf RGT participate. We’d like to offer you an opportunity to join us for a weekend tour of some of our favorite parts of California.  

No horsepower figures needed, this is not a race. All cars from the beginning of time-now are considered, but... we have standards. We want cars with a sense of occasion. Sell us on why you and your car should be on the Coastal Range Rally.

How much is it?

• $300 - me myself and I (Driver) 
• $450 - driver and co-driver
• $600 - three people
• $750 - 4 people

The entrance fee includes the following:

• Goodie bag (shirt, stickers, snacks, and more...)
• Rally map
• Raffle entry (prizes donated by our generous sponsors) 
• Roadside assistance provided by Hagerty Insurance
• 1 lunch and 2 dinner parties
• An awesome weekend, and more... 

*You will need to book your own hotels. We will provide you with our recommended hotels once you are accepted.

Where?

This year's event will start in Central California and end in Central California.

Application deadline is 12/08/2017

Apply with full payment, and we will choose 50 ish cars that make the cut. 

If you are not accepted (we still think you're awesome), we'll refund payment in full by 12/11/2017.  

*Please No Vehicle Substitutions Without Prior Approval.    

*Refunds available until January 23rd, after which entry fees are non-refundable. This event will run rain or shine, and we reserve the right to alter the route at any time.
